Anita Neukirch
is an installation artist, a lyricist, a music and sound composer

based in the Rhein-Main area, Germany.

While she studies Cultural Anthropology and Educational Science at the University of Mainz, she seeks to understand societal phenomena, such as digitisation with its promising but also alien aspects

of the human experience.

As she has a keen interest in hybrid art forms, she likes to combine installation and sound and uses digital and analogue producing techniques to shape harmonic textures. Within this terrain, she is exploring corelational agencies of various matter to
evolve her compositional capabilities.

She is usually looking for creative entanglements with other artists and cultural creaters to realise interdisciplinary projects, whereby

she takes part in melting her musical and technical

knowledge into journeys open to explore.

Her EP

« Speculative Temples »

is currently still in production.

At its core, this project endeavors an interpolation between ancient and present times. Throughout history, ancient times have been an object of speculation since the  Renaissance. Neukirch has investigated concepts of Self-care and Stoicism in ancient greek philosophy that nowadays reveal their power as an ancient remedy that helps to navigate through the chaos of the digital age with its surplus of information and its myriad of conspiracy theories. Based on this awareness, she aims to trigger ruptures to re-shape space with sonic experiences for reflection; speculative temples. They shall have sensual agency to shed light upon abysses of digitisation that obscure ways of being and becoming.

Within the practise to create immersive experiences, she explores repetitive material in its static and fluid forms as well as its evoking psychophysical effects. She delves into techniques of minimal music and modular synthesis and blends it with sacral essences. She composes with instrumental and vocal textures, such as self-patched

sets of oscillators, modulating sequences and bordunes that invite contemporary

spiritual seekers to states of contemplation.
